Rider in fatal motorcycle crash identified

MOLINE, Ill. - UPDATE:  The Rock Island County Coroner has identified the rider killed in a motorcycle crash in Moline on Monday.

Coroner Brian Gustafson tells Local 4 News that Terance Cavins, of Moline, died of traumatic chest and abdominal injuries suffered in the impact.

PREVIOUS STORY:

One man is dead after his motorcycle hit a car on Monday afternoon.

The accident happened shortly after 4 o'clock at the intersection of 7th Street and 35th Avenue in Moline.

A Pontiac was traveling west on 35th when it was hit in its driver's door by a Kawasaki ZX750 going north on 7th.

The 36-year-old rider was taken to Unity Point Rock Island where he passed away.  His name is being withheld until family can be notified.

No word on injuries to the driver of the Pontiac.
