The new Rock Island Fire Department fire boat hasn't made its official debut yet and it's already getting a workout.
Fire fighters have been training this week on the new equipment in preparation for its first official use during Red, White, and Boom on Saturday.
However, the Mississippi River has provided some practice of its own. On Tuesday fire fighters came across a waverunner that had crashed and towed it to safety.
Friday afternoon crews were on the water again and were waved down by a boat that was sinking. It was towed over to Davenport safely.
No one was hurt during either incident.
