Road work has been a problem for many people living in Bettendorf over the past year. Now some of that construction is being relocated.

The Iowa Department of Transportation says State Street will be closed in segments between 10th and 17th Streets. Crews are working on new water and sewer lines in the area. Some business owners along the construction route say they know the work will benefit them in the long run, but over the past several months it's been hurting their bottom line.

"Since they started the construction behind us here in March, business has been down almost 50 percent. Just got to keep your fingers crossed. One day at a time," said Scott Jones, Scuba Adventures QCA Owner.

Parking will not be allowed on the north side of state street between 8th and 10th streets while construction continues.
