Slowly but surely high temperatures are expected to return back to average

A cool end to April and start of May is expected to end soon

QUAD CITIES - The Quad Cities saw a very cool and rainy end to the month of April. A low pressure system blocked out warm air and kept it raining for several days but now the tides are turning.

The jet stream is setting up far enough to the north to block the cold air out and eventually there will be some warmer southern air moving into the area. Temperatures will be in the upper 50s and lower 60s for Wednesday and Thursday but then hang out in the mid 60s through the rest of the weekend.

Highs will even hit the the 70s by next week as warmer air pushes ahead of some more rain in the forecast for the middle part of the week. Until then, enjoy the sunshine and mid 60s through the weekend!
