Saint Ambrose University and Assumption High School dedicated their new sports complex Friday night.
The "Saint Vincent's complex opened in May but they officially dedicated the space.
This is all a part of phase one which includes three fields for soccer, softball, lacrosse and football. The entire project is a partnership between the two schools that have worked together since the late 1800's.
Joan Lescinski is a senior at the school and says the new complex is exciting.
"It's very simple to say, it's thrilling. Thrilling because I know what it means to our students, and their coaches and trainers, I know what it means to the parents who watch their sons and daughters play on these fields, so it's thrilling for all of us. "
Phase two of the project will include an outdoor track and another athletic field, but the schools don't know when that will be completed.
