Teen will be tried as adult in Thor case

Officials called it one of the worst cases of animal abuse they've seen

CAMBRIDGE, Illinois - Damien Ingram, 17, will be tried in an adult court system, a Henry County judge decided today.

Ingram's first appearance will be Monday. He is charged with two felonies related to animal cruelty.

A 6-week-old puppy -- since named Thor -- was found with deep cuts in its neck in July and officials said at the time it was one of the worst cases of animal abuse they've seen.

The Henry County Humane Society in Kewanee presented reward checks totaling $250 to the four children who first found Thor and the woman they went to who then called police.

Thor has made an incredible recovery, even playing in the water at Kewanee's "End of Season Dog Swim" in Northeast Park in August.
