Trash fire burns down vacant house

When crews arrived, the house was fully engulfed in flames.

A vacant home burnt down in East Moline Sunday.

Firefighters responded to a fire at a house on 37th Street around 1:10 p.m. When they arrived, the house was fully engulfed in flames.

Luckily, no one was inside at the time. Crews tell us the home was going to be torn down. It started on fire because trash was being burned nearby, spreading to one of the house's side walls.

No one was hurt in the fire and it did not spread to any other buildings in the neighborhood.
