DAVENPORT, Iowa - Two robotics teams with Davenport students earned high marks competing against others from around the world.

The Combustible Lemons team, were named world champions at the first tech challenge. They came in first out of 128 teams that entered that event.

Disruptive Innovation is the other team who was one of six teams to win the Rookie All-Star Award. They attended several different competitions held in St. Louis over the weekend.

Kailey Fellner is a part of the team and says the win was unexpected.

"It was kind of unexpected to win these high honors but when we did we were really proud of ourselves and we were really thankful to all the people who helped us get there," Fellner said.

The kids are more than just highly-skilled in robotics. The students have also put in more than 4,500 hours of community service.
