Two Scott County deputies recognized for saving a woman's life

The pair used a defibrillator to revive a Park View, Iowa woman

DAVENPORT, Iowa - Two members of the Scott County Sheriff's Office were honored Thursday for their efforts to keep a woman alive earlier in the year.

Lieutenant Joe Caffery and Deputy Dan Grafton received life saving awards at the Scott County Courthouse Thursday morning. Back in February the pair used an Automated External Defibrillator or AED to revive an unresponsive female in Park View. She was taken to a local hospital and upon arrival was alert and conscious.

"It's a great honor. I have actually had a chance to talk with her and we were able to sit down and  go over the events that took place and she's very grateful. It's a very humbling experience to be a part of that," said Lt. Caffery.

The awards were presented after others in the Scott County Sheriff's Officer were given promotions.
