Valentine-themed lunch to help 25 veterans

Funds raised to help homeless vets staying at two local homeless shelters.

DAVENPORT, Iowa. - A Valentine's themed lunch aims to help homeless veterans in the a Quad Cities.
The fourth annual 'Have a Heart for the Homeless' luncheon was held at the Center for Active Seniors in Davenport Saturday.
With a donation, people could enjoy a catered lunch and silent auction.
The event coordinator says all the funds will help 25 veterans staying at one of two local homeless shelters.
"Whatever jobs they can get we want them to look nice. Some of them come and they just have old shoes, and that would not help them get a job. So, I need sponsors, so that we can do specific things," said Coordinator Barbara Montgomery.
They will hold next year's event on February 3rd.
If you would like to donate in the mean time just stop by Christian Care or Humility of Mary.
