Vintage football game returns to Rock Island this weekend

Action reflects how the sport was played back in the 1920's

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - This Sunday you can catch a football game locally that's unlike anything you'll see on television.

Vintage American Football returns to Rock Island and this year's game will be in a new setting. Co-organizers Simon Herrera and Chris Zimmerman joined us in studio to talk more about the game itself and the history of football in the Quad Cities. Because of renovations being done at Douglas Park, this year the Moline Universal Tractors and the Rock Island Independents will play at the Hauberg Estate. It's located at 24th Street and 13th Avenue in Rock Island. Pregame starts at 3 p.m. and kickoff is at 3:30. You can see some of the gear they'll use in the video above.
