Vintage football was a blast from the past

The game was much more than just vintage uniforms.

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - It was a blast from the past in Rock Island's Douglas Park Sunday,as the Rock Island Independents took on the Moline Universal Tractors in a 1920's style flag football game. 
 
The game was much more than just vintage uniforms. The teams played with a 1920's style ball. They also followed the football rules of the era. 
 
There were lots of fans on the sidelines cheering on their teams. 
 
Today's game was all about bringing awareness to the quad cities' pro football history. 
The Moline Universal Tractors were the first-ever opponent of the Chicago Bears, known as the Decatur Staleys at the time, in the first season of the NFL in 1920.
