What if college could be free?
The Iowa senate candidate Patty Judge wants to give some students free college.
The candidate talked debt with students at a roundtable in Des Moines Thursday.
To help keep student debt down, Judge says she wants to offer two free years of community college to students who maintain a certain grade point average.
"We are going to see more and more people using community college as a base. Using high school advanced classes as credits to carry into college with them and try to lessen the time spent in a four year institution."
This comes after Judge recently announced her education policy, which would increase access to education for all ages.
Judge faces incumbent Republican senator Chuch Grassley in the general election in November.
