A 30-year-old woman is charged with filing a false police report after authorities said she lied about spotting the suspects wanted in the murder of Illinois police officer Joseph Gliniewicz.

Kristin Kiefer's claim prompted a massive five-hour search overnight. The Lake County Sheriff's Office said Kiefer told officers she pulled over for car trouble, and two suspects in a cornfield approached her and tried to steal her car before running away.

Police searched the area for five hours, but nothing was found. Kiefer later admitted to making up the entire story because she wanted attention.

Kiefer is charged with two counts of disorderly conduct for falsifying a police report. The manhunt continued for a third day.
