YMCA shows off new youth center

The $2.8 million center is replacing the old center in the basement.

The Scott County YMCA is celebrating a brand new early learning center today. 
 
The $2.8 million 11,000 square foot building will replace the old center in the basement of the downtown Davenport YMCA. Deb Gustafon, the executive director of the new learning center said the new building is designed to better help kids be successful.
 
"This building is built for them," said Gustafon. "The windows are at their height the sinks the restrooms the stools everything at their height everything at their finger tips they'll be able to play and do with nothing stopping them from exploring using their senses experiencing and so it's really exciting for us. "
 
There will be a community open house on Sunday from 3 until 5 p.m.
