Ex-Hawk Jok gets NBA chance with Pelicans

Big Ten's leading scorer will play for New Orleans in Summer League

Former Iowa Hawkeye Peter Jok did not hear his name called during Thursday night's NBA Draft, but it doesn't mean he won't be able to take his shot at an NBA career.

Jok announced on Twitter that the same team that gave him a workout last offseason is giving him a roster spot in the NBA Summer League: The New Orleans Pelicans.

Jok averaged 19.9 points per game and shot 91.1 percent from the free throw line in his senior season, topping the Big Ten in both categories.
