He began his career interning for Radio Atlanta at the 1996 Summer Olympics. From there it was on to his first job in TV as Sports Director in Roswell, NM. The station was just a block down the road from the International UFO Museum. Roland's friends and family say he hasn't been quite the same since.  Before returning to the Quad Cities Roland also spent three years anchoring sports for the CBS station in Albuquerque.

Having anchored weekend newscasts for two years, in March 2015, Roland moved out of the anchor chair and back into his real passion, local sports.  In addition to sports and news reporting, Roland will spearhead the station's effort to be your Hawkeye Headquarters for all things Iowa Hawkeyes.

Roland is married to Lauree a beautiful caring and sweet 1st grade teacher. They have two energetic and hilarious little boys.
