Severe Thunderstorm Watch (June 16th)

June 16, 9pm - Severe T'Storm Watch issued for Quad Cities
11pm Update - The Severe Thunderstorm Watch continues tonight...and Cedar County (Iowa) is under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning until 11:30 pm.  Winds up to about 60 mph are expected as the storms roll East between 30 and 40 miles per hour.  It does appear the line of storms has weakened a little bit but some damaging winds are still likely.  These storms will reach the Quad cities and directly North of the quad cities in about 90 minutes.

Previous Post - The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for the Quad Cities tonight.  The Watch includes several counties along and North of I-80.  This Watch will be in effect until 3am.  A line of severe thunderstorms has formed and is now moving through Northern Iowa.  This line of storms will roll into the Quad Cities area between 10p-1am tonight.  The storms will pack winds of more than 70 miles per hour at times and some hail.  We'll have a full update on CBS4 News at 10 and on CBS4 TV as needed tonight.  We'll also keep you updated on ourquadcities.com and through our mobile apps!  Andy will have an update right at the beginning of CBS4 News at 10 with your Forecast First.
