Linda Cook

Linda joined the Local 4 News team in August 2020 as a digital reporter and content producer. She has been a full-time newspaper journalist in the Quad Cities since 1987.

At WHBF/www.ourquadcities.com, her focus is on crime and courts, as well as missing persons featured in the “Vanished QC: The Missing.” She also covers breaking news.

Linda earned a bachelor degree in elementary education and English at Monmouth College in Monmouth, Ill. Right after graduation, she was a reporter for The Review Atlas, where she covered city and county news as well as crime.

She earned a master of criminal justice degree at St. Ambrose University, Davenport, and taught college classes at St. Ambrose, Kaplan University, and Brown Mackie. She became a program chair at Kaplan, with a cohort of 87 instructors.

She has been a professional film critic since 1987, and is a member of the Alliance of Women Film Journalists, Critics Choice Association and www.rottentomatoes.com

Linda supports animal-protection organizations, including Niabi Zoo, the Humane Society of Scott County, the Animal Welfare Center, Down by the Creek Companion Animal Sanctuary, and many more. She is a certified educator for the House Rabbit Society, and is on the editorial team for the House Rabbit Journal.

She and her husband share their home with Iris, an English Angora rescue rabbit.

A lifelong Lutheran, she is a member of St. Mark Evangelical Lutheran Church, Davenport.
