Briana Collier joined the Local 4 news team in October of 2016 as a Multimedia Journalist. She is a proud Saluki alum, graduating from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, with a degree in Radio-Television and Digital Media; and a minor in speech communications.
Briana was active at her university being apart of the university's student produced newscast, where she anchored and produced her own late night edition show, as well as being one of the evening edition anchors. She is also a member of Alpha Kappa Psi co-ed business fraternity where she was the vice president of alumni relations for a year. This is Briana's first job in the TV industry and she could not be more ecstatic to dive right in and continue to grow and expand her news gathering skills.
Born and raised in the suburbs of the Windy City, Briana's childhood dream was to always be on TV, while learning and engaging in something new every day. Prior to earning her position here in the Quad Cities, Briana previously worked in radio for iHeartMedia Chicago for a number of popular FM radio stations. She was also the board operator and associate producer for WSIU's NPR radio station in Carbondale.
When Briana is not in the field, as a former basketball player, she enjoys getting in a few pickup games any local gym when she is has the opportunity. She also enjoys trying new foods and restaurants, catching a good Netflix series, traveling and listening to music. Briana is also a shop-a-holic; with an emphasis on purses, shoes and jewelry. With her family near to her heart, Briana's goal is to make her family proud of everything that she does.
