The holidays are upon on us and it might surprise you to know that the average American will spend somewhere between $700 and $1000 on Christmas, the vast majority of that on gifts and decorations.  With online shopping levels on the rise, much of that money goes to businesses outside our community. But when you shop local, a large portion of the money you spend stays local, as does the majority of the tax revenue.  That money, circulating in our community, helps to fund local schools, pave roads, pay local police officers and firefighters  and more. Shopping locally also creates local jobs.

Joining us to talk more about that, from the City of Dewitt is aboutTed Papuga, President of Marketers of DeWitt and Angela Rheingans, DeWitt Chamber & Development Co – Executive Director.
