Democratic presidential hopeful supports EU model to protect data privacy

4 The Record

An issue I’ve been bringing up with every candidate I have a chance to talk to has to do with technology and data privacy.

We hear a lot about companies’ databases getting breached with few repercussions with our personal information put at risk.

We’ve seen the European Union adopt strong measures for privacy violations to the tune of a million dollar fine for each incident.

Congress is slow to act.

I brought that up in this 4 The Record web extra with Democratic presidential candidate Eric Swalwell, asking what he thinks of Senator Elizabeth Warren’s proposal to break up big technology and if the European Union model should be adopted.
