Jazz players gather at Oakdale Memorial Gardens in Davenport.
It’s not your typical concert venue but the, “Hot Jazz Stompers,” a band from Germany, was passing through and wanted to stop and honor the late Bix Biederbecke.
Members like Joel Guzman say his career in Jazz has greatly influenced the bands music.
“For me it’s about BB as well, but it’s also bigger than BB. Jazz, Blues, and that kind of soul, that music that lives on thru the ages as Bix lives on.” // “I think being here today is a reflection of that level of respect we have for his legacy and the legacy of jazz and making that kind of music.”
About a dozen people showed up to watch the concert.
