Added security will greet students Friday at Bettendorf High School.
The Bettendorf School District told Local Four News late Thursday night.
The action is in response to a potential threat received Thursday, Nov. 15 about something happening Friday.
The school is working with Bettendorf Police and the FBI on the threat.
School officials told Local Four News the agencies don’t believe the threat to be credible and are moving forward with continuing classes as usual.
The school has decided to strengthen security to help with peace of mind for students, families and staff and not because of credible safety concerns the district said in a letter to parents.
