Big Brothers Big Sisters kicks off their 28th annual plant sale in Davenport today.
Their mission is to provide children facing adversity with strong, enduring relationships.
They partner with mentors who help the children realize their potential.
Local 4 pitched in yesterday to help get some of the plants unloaded at their Moline sale yesterday.
The Davenport sale will continue through next Saturday, and all proceeds will go toward mentor training programs.
Development and marketing director Beth Clark said that this event is for the benefit of the children in their care.
“It’s definitely about the kids. And if we can get them together with an adult mentor it means they have a chance to really see life in a new way and really hope for their future.”
