Davenport man arrested for assaulting an officer

DAVENPORT, Iowa - A Davenport man is arrested after hitting and pulling a gun on a Davenport police officer.
Police say 24-year-old Alexander John Noel was arrested December 1, after a traffic stop.
It happened just before 5 p.m. Friday afternoon, near North Division and West 14th streets.
Reports say Noel tried to escape police, punching the officer in the process. 
The officer then got ahold of noel, that's when police say he pulled a gun on the officer.
The extent of the officer's injuries is unknown at this time.
Noel is in the Scott County Jail on multiple charges including assault a police officer, providing false identification, a felon in possession of a weapon and carrying a stolen weapon.

Police also found marijuana in the vehicle. 
They charged the driver, 23-year-old Lacey Smith, with possession of drug paraphernalia.
