UPDATE: A 63-year-old East Moline man died of smoke inhalation in the Friday morning fire.
An early morning house fire in the 200 block of 30th Avenue in East Moline has left one person dead.
We spoke to the fire battalion chief on scene. He says they were first unable to enter the home due to a collapsed roof, but once the flames were contained they were able to get inside. That’s when they found one deceased male.
Since there was a fatality the state fire marshal is also investigating the incident. There is no word on the cause of the fire.
