Ex-teacher files written guilty plea to sexual exploitation by a school employee

A former teacher in the Central DeWitt Community School District accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student filed a written guilty plea earlier this month as part of a plea agreement.

Ramsey Hinkle’s attorney filed the plea on January 2 in Clinton County Court.

She had been charged with felony sexual exploitation by a school employee, but as a result of the deal, she pleaded guilty to an aggravated misdemeanor charge of sexual exploitation by a school employee.

Hinkle will be sentenced on February 7 at 9:15 a.m.

A former teacher in the Central DeWitt Community School District is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student.

Ramsey Hinkle was arrested on Friday.

She’s being charged with sexual exploitation by a school employee.

According to a letter from the school district, Hinkle was placed on leave in the fall of 2016 following a report of an inappropriate relationship.

She was let go in March 2017.

A statement from the Central DeWitt Community School District said they want to reassure the community that the district followed policies and Iowa law.
