Ready for some serious heat and humidity?  It’s on the way!

The combination of heat and humidity will make it feel like it’s about 107° Friday afternoon and that’s why the National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Warning for the Quad Cities for Friday and Saturday.

This was originally issued as a Heat Advisory, as heat index values were expected around 105°.  Now it looks like we could be in the 105° to 110° range and that’s why it’s been upgraded to the more serious warning.

Some advice for days like this:

Stay inside where’s the A/C

Drink a lot of water

Avoid strenuous outside work during the late morning through evening hours

Check on elderly and the pets

Wear light colored and loose fitting clothing
