Fight ends with gunshot fired, leading to business thinking it was being robbed

An employee of a Davenport business unknowingly got caught in the middle of a street fight.

It happened late Thursday night near 16th and Washington streets.

Police say several people were involved in an altercation.

According to the police investigation, someone fired a shot in the air to disperse the crowd.

One person ran into a business, jumped the counter and attempted to hide.

The employee incorrectly thought a robbery was underway.

Two juveniles were charged related to the incident:

+ A 17-year-old was charged with trafficking in stolen weapons used in a crime, interference and fifth degree theft.

+ A 16-year-old of age, reckless use of a firearm, trafficking in stolen weapons used in a crime, interference with a firearm and fifth degree theft.

Two additional juveniles were detained:

+ A 15-year-old transported to the Juvenile Detention Center for a warrant out of Rock Island.

+ A 15-year-old determined to be a runaway and returned to the holding facility.

There were no reports of injuries or damage.
