Fight leads to stabbing, arrest

One man was stabbed and another was arrested and charged with aggravated battery after a fight in Moline early Friday.

Moline Police were dispatched to the 2400 block 16th Street in Moline around 2:14 a.m. after a report of a fight involving multiple people.

Officers located a 34-year-old man suffering from a puncture wound to his torso.

It was determined that during the fight, the victim was stabbed one time in his side with a pocket knife.

Moline Fire Department responded and transported the victim to Unity Point-Rock Island where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

As a result of the investigation, Moline Police arrested Jameaal D. Lovelady, 32, of Moline for aggravated battery.

The Moline Police Criminal Investigation Division is reviewing the case with the Rock Island County State’s Attorney’s Office regarding formal criminal charges against Lovelady.
