Thunderstorms bringing heavy rain are forecast again tonight, and that means a threat of flash flooding is back.
A Flash Flood Watch goes into effect tonight at 7:00 PM across much of the Quad-City Area, lasting until 10:00 AM tomorrow.
Storms on Thursday night, rain on Friday, and storms again this morning have saturated the ground with up to 2 inches or more of rainfall. Another 1-2 inches is possible tonight.
Low-lying spots, urban areas, and small creeks and streams are especially vulnerable to torrential rain from thunderstorms.
Other Severe Threats
The threat of hail, damaging winds, and tornadic activity is still there this evening and overnight. Luckily, this morning’s clouds and rain have stolen some of the energy in the atmosphere, making powerful storms a little less likely.
