Many people in Texas are still trying to figure out how to pick up the pieces after Hurricane Harvey whipped through parts of the state.

The Good Samaritan Society in Geneseo will be sending help Thursday to those affected.

They will be preparing hygiene kits filled with bar soap, toothbrushes, hand towels and much more.

Senior living manager Jane Scherer said they will be sending nearly 200 hygiene kits.

Scherer said it’s important to never forget those affected.

“Their struggles are ongoing and it is tragic there are so many lost lives,” Scherer said. “It is important for all of us to continuously remember them now, next week and months from now. They’re going to be rebuilding and those hygiene kits will still be needed off and on throughout the next weeks and months to come.”

They will preparing kits Thursday from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at the Good Samaritan Society – Geneseo Village.
