Hy-Vee’s new shopping option to bring dozens of new jobs to QCA

News

A new shopping option is taking shape in the Quad Cites and it’s set to bring in dozens of new jobs.

Local 4 News has gotten the rendering of Hy-Vee’s new Fast and Fresh store in Davenport.

It’s being built on the corner of Elmore Avenue and East Kimberly Road.

Officials tell Local 4 News that the nearly 10,000 square foot store will bring in about 50 new jobs.

The store will have groceries, baked goods and made-to-order meals for dine-in or carry out.

The goal is to cater to Quad Citians on the go.

“I think it’s that person that’s time starved that needs that option– ‘Hey, I want to get in, I want to get out, I want to get in and get out, I’m not making that whole shopping trip today, I just want to get that dinner option for tonight or that lunch option,'” says Tom Crocker, Store director of the Hy-Vee on 53rd Street & Utica Ridge Road.

There will also be  seven double-sided gas pumps and a Starbucks drive-thru at the location.

Davenport’s Fast and Fresh location will be one of the first in the nation.

It’s set to open this fall.
