Iowa gambling brings millions of dollars for local groups

Dozens of local organizations are getting a financial boost from gambling in the Iowa Quad Cities.
 
The Scott County Regional Authority handed out more than one and a half million dollars Tuesday. The money is generated by gaming receipts from the Isle of Capri.
 
The biggest individual award this year went to the city of Bettendorf with more than $160,000 dollars for the Quad Cities Waterfront Convention Center.
 
The Davenport school district is getting about $80,000 dollars to support student journalism and the Red Cross of the Quad Cities area, River Bend Foodbank, and the Humane Society are also getting at least $10,000 dollars.
