Harvard Professor Robert D. Putnam says the American Dream doesn’t exist for some American kids because of a widening economic gap between rich and poor families in the country.
The research is part of his book, “Our Kids: The American Dream in Crisis,” and it’s the topic of a new discussion series coming to Davenport Public Library.
The first of four discussions on the topic happens Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the library’s Fairmount Street branch.
Free copies of the book will also be available at all Davenport Public Library locations while supplies last.
