The Warren County Jail assessment report was released Monday.
The jail is back reopened in January after a staffing shortage forced its doors to close for nearly five months.
“Overall the building does not function as a modern county jail and offices for the Sheriff Department,” the report concluded. “The building does not have adequate space for storing records and evidence that is protected from water. The building is very outdated and necessary repairs have been deferred. Water infiltration needs to be addressed. The roof needs to be maintained. The building is not accommodating for ADA accessibility.”
