It is an issue that has been at the forefront locally for a good while now.

There were four separate meetings Tuesday in Silvis to try to sort out who the city will have for legal counsel and to handle the city’s labor arbitration cases.

One of those meetings included a symbolic vote and has no legal standing. That vote was to disqualify Ancel Glink as the city attorney.

By ordiance, Silvis Mayor Matt Carter still controls that decision.
