NOTE: (June 8, 2022 – 5:25 p.m.) Michelle Bruty applied for early retirement in February of 2022, which was granted by the school board. She did not resign in May at the school board meeting, and her publicly speaking about the eventual departure was not a new announcement.
A Bettendorf Middle School counselor is speaking out about the problems she had to face during the last school year. Michelle Bruty said she was threatened, called degrading names and even chased into her office by students.
