A body was found in the Mississippi River on Thursday afternoon around 1:30pm.

The Rock Island County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a body along the shore of an island east of Andalusia.

The body was recovered and found to be badly decomposed.

The Rock Island County Sheriff’s Office and Rock Island County Coroner’s Office is continuing the investigation.

Scott County emergency response teams also assisted in the recovery of the body.
