Cops and Cones Ice Cream Social rescheduled

UPDATE: With the enhanced risk for severe weather late Tuesday afternoon and evening in conjunction with a heat index of 115 degrees for the Quad-City area, the Cops and Cones event has been rescheduled from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17, at Vander Veer Park, Davenport, near the large fountain.

“The safety of our community is a priority and we encourage everyone to stay up to date on the ever-changing weather,” a news release from Davenport Police says.

EARLIER: The Davenport Police Association invites the community to the Cops and Cones Ice Cream Social from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Vander Veer Park, 215 W. Central Park Ave., Davenport, near the large fountain.

Participants will receive a free single-dip Whitey’s Ice Cream cone or a Fla-vorice Popsicle while they meet and greet Davenport Police Officers at the family-friendly event.

In case of inclement weather a rain date will be determined.
