Despite hospitalizations and deaths related to COVID-19 remain on the upswing and California reporting its fifth-highest rate of positive tests since the pandemic began, health officials say there are some positive signs. A new vaccine should be approved and available within the next two weeks, and studies show it works well against the current variants.
