UPDATE: On November 16 at approximately 7:00 p.m., the Davenport Fire Department responded to the 1000 block of Scott St. for a structure fire.

Davenport Engine 2 and Truck 1 were first on scene and discovered heavy smoke from the home and heavy fire from the second floor. Fire was throughout the structure, from the basement to the second floor. the fire was attacked from the exterior due to building condition and volume of
fire. Crews were on scene actively fighting the fire for several hours.

The home was vacant and appeared to have been neglected for some time. The residence had hoarding conditions throughout, adding to the extreme fire conditions. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.


A home in Davenport was left with major damage after a fire broke out November 16.

Firefighters were called to the house near Scott and 10th Streets around 7:00 p.m. The Our Quad Cities News crew spotted flames shooting through windows and the roof. The smoke could be seen for blocks.

It’s not clear if anyone was hurt or inside at the time.
