Illinois state parks closed

The Illinois Department of Natural Resources announced Monday morning the closure of all state parks, fish and wildlife areas, recreational areas, and historic sites.

The department said in a release that the measure is taken to further prevent the spread of COVID-19, and was issued on March 9th, in accordance with the Gubernatorial Disaster Proclamation.

Scheduled upcoming events are also cancelled.
