OH, MY GOURDNESS! Illinois is on track to lead the nation in the pumpkin crop this year.
The Illinois Farm Bureau says the harvest should clock in at about 650 million pounds. Illinois has nearly 16,000 acres devoted to growing pumpkins, which is more than twice the amount dedicated by the top six other states that grow pumpkins.
