UPDATE: According to a press release from the Silvis Fire Department, the boil order for all parts of Silvis has been lifted.

Public works crews have repaired the broken water main. All residents should now have water. The boil order for the affected residents will be in place for at least 24 hours. The city will have another press release and social media updates when the boil order is lifted. Residents may notice a little bit lower water pressure this weekend. This is a temporary measure.

EARLIER UPDATE: A boil order has been put in place for a large portion of Silvis.
The yellow highlighted areas on the map provided by the city below are where the boil order is in place.
The water main break is located on 14th Street just south of Crosstown Avenue.

Clinics located in the Larson Center on the Genesis Medical Center – Silvis campus will be closed on Friday due to the break.
Affected sites include:
· Genesis Health Group, Silvis – OB/GYN
· Genesis Health Group, Silvis – Family Practice
· Genesis Health Group, Silvis – Surgical
· Genesis Health Group, Silvis – Pulmonary
· Genesis Health Group, Silvis – Pediatrics

EARLIER UPDATE: A water main break in Silvis “has caused much of the city to not have water service,” according to Fire Chief/Emergency Management Director John Winters.
Winters said in a news release that “Public Works crews are actively working to restore the service,” but there is no estimation on when services will be restored at this time.
