6-year-old injured in shooting

UPDATE: Police say a 6-year-old was injured in a shooting Wednesday in Davenport.

Davenport Police responded to the 3200 block of McKinley Avenue around 12:43 p.m. after a report of gunfire and located multiple spent casings.

Police say a preliminary investigation indicated that the 6-year-old “sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken, via private vehicle, to a local hospital for medical treatment.”

EARLIER UPDATE: Police responded to a report of a shooting in Davenport on Wednesday afternoon.

It happened in the 3200 block of McKinley Avenue.

Local 4 News was the only station at the scene.

At least four evidence markers were on the ground.
