Iowa is promoting a new app intended to make schools safer when classes start back in session.
The Safe+Sound Iowa app came from the Governor’s School Safety Initiative, and it’s free for every school in Iowa. The app launched in March, and more than 70 tips were submitted over the last two months of the school year for police to check. Leads about possible threats can be made anonymously.
