The lure of fishing helps to move past winter, pandemic

Now that winter’s in the rear view mirror, some people in the Quad Cities are ready to be outdoors and go fishing.

Fishing licenses in Iowa increased 38% this year.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says hunting licenses have also seen more purchases.

One popular fishing spot is Lost Grove Lake in Scott County, where fishing is more than just catching fish.

Local 4’s Eric Zizich spoke to a couple of fishermen as to why they enjoy the sport.
