United Way Quad Cities partners with Madison Elementary School to learn about racial disparities

As the nation celebrates Black history month, United Way Quad Cities partnered with Madison elementary school and the African American leadership society to teach the future generation. The two are working together to make it easier to learn about racial disparities. United Way reports that 33 percent of third graders cannot read at a proficient level. They also believe children can become less engaged in learning with material that the children cannot relate to.
